PIKE PLACE MARKET

Arriving at 7.30am at Pike Place Market, Seattle, could not have been a better time to come and discover this absolute gem. An abundance of fruit and vegetables, delhis, fresh seafood and boutiques - this is the oldest public farmer's market of the USA. As we arrived the fruit and veg stalls were just opening, and we got to try samples of plums and muscat grapes (both from Chile - what are the chances!?). The guy from the stall recommended Lowell's for "the best breakfast in Pike Place Market", with a view of the Puget Sound, so that's exactly where we headed next. 

LOWELL'S

We ordered the Fresh Alderwood Smoked King Salmon Scramble, with a cinnamon roll for after (why not!?) and both were divine! I picked up my free copy of Seattle's Child so that I could get up to speed with everything going on for kids and parents in the local area of Puget Sound. We went up to the third floor for a great view of the water and got a table by the window. "Almost classy" Lowell's even has a Breakfast Happy Hour: from 7 to 9am you can order a Bloody Mary for $5. 

It's safe to say that Sienna LOVED it! 

If you go to Pike Place Market, "the centre of the known Universe!", make sure to explore all of the long corridors and alley ways to get the most out of the place. It's like a labyrinth of great shops and restaurants so you must explore! Pick up your free copy of the Pike Street Times to guide you.

THE ORIGINAL STARBUCKS

The first ever Starbucks opened right here in Pike Place Market in 1912 and is still here today. I really recommend being there soon after it opens though because there will be a queue right out the door for most of the day. 

THE SEATTLE CENTRE

Just a twenty minute walk down (and up) the road (in the wind and rain, carrying a sleeping 15kg tot in an Ergo Baby Carrier), we arrived at Seattle's iconic Space Needle. Here you will find a mass of other attractions like the Pacific Science Museum and the MoPOP. This whole area is called the Seattle Center.

SEATTLE CHILDREN'S MUSEUM

We spent the rest of the morning at the Seattle Children's Museum, on the lowest floor of the Center House in the Seattle Center. You can tell by the pictures how much Sienna enjoyed it, but it really is a great interactive museum, with lots of things to do and play with, and there are even dance classes and story times. We easily spent three hours there and Sienna crashed in the Ergo sling once again as we left.

Sisi Says... Scamp & Dude

Sienna is wearing an outfit by Scamp & Dude, Vogue's "favorite new kid's brand" and it's one of the few that she doesn't argue back about or refuse to wear! She loves the Super Dino on the front and we have a thing for Breton stripes! This comfortable soft-cotton jogger and sweater duo has the most adorable embroidered lightening bolts which I think Sienna truly believes give her super powers! "A superhero has your back" is the slogan for this out-of-this-world British kidswear brand. Thank you Scamp & Dude for your awesome philosophy, great design, and for helping to teach our children to have faith that everything will be just fine! 

P.S. Sisi's boots are the Pokey Pine Chukkas from Timberland in Black Iris. The leather is great quality and the soles are flexible.
